Electronics Technician Job: Alsager, Cheshire, UK
We require someone to join our small engineering team in Alsager to work on building electronics circuits, product development, and marketing. Main roles will include building and testing electronic devices, developing and cocumenting electronics projects, and online order processing.
Other duties given will depend on the candidates own strengths and could include, electronic design and PCB layout, programming, making and documenting electronic projects or operating other machines such as CNC or 3D printer. Candidates demonstrating skills in other areas may be offered higher pay. Effective marketing will be rewarded with commission which could significantly increase overall pay.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys making electronic projects as a hobby. The successful candidate will share their time between the standard tasks of building electronic circuits and working on documenting DIY type electronic projects. Building circuits will involve soldering and operating a robot to place components onto PCBs. The circuits will then be tested and stored before being processed for shipping. We have a range of machines that we encourage the right person to make use of in developing ideas and projects. These include CNC router, Lathe, Mill, 3D Printer, and more. We will give on the job training for use of the hardware and any relevant software packages. It is essential that the candidate can take a logical approach while still being able to think ‘outside the box’.
Soldering experience essential
Creative, geeky mind-set essential
Strong science grades preferred but not essential
Any electronic engineering qualification would be a significant advantage.
Work experience in Electronics or online marketing would be a significant advantage.
The candidate must be able to demonstrate an active hobby or past work experience in electronics areas.

On the job training will be given for use of the machines (Laser Cutter, Pick & Place etc). We also encourage and support active learning to continually improve skills related to the job.
The position is for a permanent job with option to develop a key role within the company as it grows.
Hours will typically be 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, but other or part time hours may be available.
This is also available as an apprentice position which will allow the employee to study in college and also gain a qualification.
